Terms & Conditions
Confirming your booking
Wedding dates will be held for 14 days before confirmation, after which dates are released and quotations are subject to change. All other bookings will be held for a maximum of 3 weeks before receiving confirmation.
If you would like to confirm your booking, a 50% non refundable deposit is required to secure it. We are unable to guarantee your date/ booking without a deposit. By making a payment, the Buyer is accepting all Terms & Conditions on this page.
It is the Buyers responsibility to check and any invoices and quotes thoroughly before making payment.
Balance payment
The final balance is due 5 working days prior to the date of the event. With regards to weddings, it is due three weeks prior to the wedding date. A friendly email reminder will be sent out to all Brides.
Please note: Cakes cannot be released for delivery or collection until the full payment has been received. Unfortunately cash on delivery cannot be accepted.
Payment method and details
Bank transfer is the preferred method of payment. Bank details will be stated on your invoice.
Alterations
Any changes to orders and design must be requested in writing and may be subject to additional charges.
Every effort will be made to accommodate the requests however please note that with regards to wedding cakes, any changes later than 6 weeks before cannot be guaranteed.
If your cake could be compromised due to any unforeseen circumstances such as weather or travel conditions, For Goodness Cakes reserves the right to make slight alterations to the design of the cake to ensure your cake is at its best. Notifications of any changes will be made in writing and we will always endeavour to keep them to a minimum, if any at all.
Wedding date and Venue Changes
We will always endeavour to accommodate changes to your wedding date, or venue, although this cannot always be guaranteed due to other bookings and deliveries on the same day; in which case your deposit will be lost. Changes of date or venue may incur extra delivery charges.
Cancellations
Deposits are non transferable and non refundable due to any loss of business from turning other bookings aways. Cancellation by client up to 4 weeks before the wedding date will result in loss of deposit plus any additional costs for work already completed up to that point. Cancellation within 4 weeks of the wedding date will require payment in full.
For Goodness Cakes reserve the right to cancel a booking under exceptional circumstances beyond our control; such as extreme ill health, death, fire, flood, adverse weather conditions in which case all money paid will be refunded in full but no further compensation will be claimable.
Delivery and Collection
If you wish to collect your cake, then instructions can be given with regards to set up. Once the client has collected the cake or delivery and set up has been completed by For Goodness Cakes, all responsibility will be with the client.
Please not that we do not supply cake tables, clothes, candles or cutting knives. It is then responsibility of the Buyer to supply these or to organise with your venue directly.
Cakes and Design
We are not a nut free kitchen therefore cakes will not be suitable for people with nut allergies. We are however able to offer gluten free cakes on request.
Cakes or sugar items must not be refrigerated unless advised. Any cake that is refrigerated should be removed from the fridge at least 1,5 hours prior to cutting to allow the cake to come back to room temperature.
Please be aware that sugar flowers and figurines are none edible due to the danger of wires and supports within them. These items should rather be kept as a memento. Best stored in tissue paper in a box or glass cabinet.
It is the responsibility of the client to make sure all dowels, cake jewellery, flower picks or any other decoration is removed before serving, For Goodness Cakes will not be held responsible for any injury relating to these items.
Consultations
Consultations are by appointment only and are not applicable to all orders. Consultation necessity is at our discretion. An appointment for a consultation and tasting must be agreed via email with For Goodness Cakes and a non-refundable consultation fee must be paid prior to the consultation date before it can be confirmed. If you confirm your order with us, then this consultation fee will be deducted from the cost of the final invoice, with the exception of a single tier order depending on order price.
Fresh Flowers
IMPORTANT: Please note that some flowers are not suitable for use on cakes due to toxins or moisture damaging the cake, so its always best to check with your florist first.
If you are considering fresh flowers on your wedding cake, I will be happy to liaise with your florist so they can supply the flowers for the cake along with your other flowers.
Complaints
For Goodness Cakes takes complaints very seriously and we continuously strive to exceed your expectations however in the event that you do have a complaint, we require proof of any problem issued in writing within 48 hours of the wedding date.
